The day started off bright and early as we met at the chamber at 6:30 am. We got our coffee and were on the road to Bismarck. The roads were not as good as we thought they would be, but we arrived nonetheless. Throughout our morning we met with people such as Attorney General Wayne Stenjhem, Governor Jack Dalyrmple and his wife Betsy, as well as State Senator Rich Wardner. We also sat in on a couple committee meetings on the topics of oil pipelines and financial development. After lunch in the Capitol Cafe, we walked over to the Heritage Museum and toured that for awhile. We saw many different displays of North Dakota’s rich history. That concluded our day in our states capital, and we learned many new things about our state government and how it runs. We are very grateful to be able to have this experience.
